Typical duties:
- Assessing the needs of new clients by conducting interviews with individuals and their families.
- Reporting on assessments.
- Monitoring medical conditions.
- Aiding clients with daily tasks such as washing, dressing, eating and drinking and general mobility.
- Recreational activities with clients.
- Providing information and support to the families of those within your care.
- Participating in training to further your knowledge.
- Providing companionship.
What skills does a care support worker need?
- Be a 'people person'
- Be empathetic
- Be patient
- Be organised
The candidate:
- Must have a minimum of 6 months t0 0ne year experience supporting clients with Learning Disabilities, Complex Care and Mental Health
- Should be outgoing and have a bubbly personality
- Must have good level of spoken and written English
- Must be eligible to work in the UK
- CQC registered (preferred but not a must)
- Sign language savvy (preferred but not a must)
- Must have a current DBS check certificate
- Must have a qualification or Certificate in Social Care
- A Degree in Psychology, Social Work would be desirable, but not essential
